We founded BuyCo with one goal in mind: to improve collaboration across the Supply Chain and help logistics professionals achieve their goals.
Our story
BuyCo was founded in 2015 by our CEO, Carl Lauron.
A graduate of top 1% Engineering School (École des Mines - Paris), an accomplished drummer, and a lifelong algorithm enthusiast, Carl has spent his career in the logistics industry, most recently serving as Head of Innovation at CMA CGM.
BuyCo was born from two key observations.
First, ocean freight operations are incredibly complex. They involve multiple stakeholders working across different time zones, using different tools and processes, while navigating a wide range of legal and documentation requirements.
Second, the industry had seen very little innovation, with few technology players addressing these challenges.
BuyCo was created to help both importers and exporters simplify, streamline, and gain full control over the operations required to move a container from point A to point B.

Following in the footsteps of its Phocaeans founders, BuyCo is a Marseille-based startup with a strong connection to the sea.

Ocean, inland, and air transportation account for 8% of global CO₂ emissions.

We provide our customers with tools to measure, monitor, and offset their CO₂ emissions, along with comprehensive reporting that helps them understand their carbon footprint and take meaningful action.

When joining BuyCo, you have two options:
1 / HYBRID WORK
A contract attached to our Marseille office, which includes 12 days/month of remote work.
2 / A FULL REMOTE CONTRACT
With the opportunity to attend the two annual BuyCo seminars.

🐣 BuyCo was born in 2015 from a team experienced in the maritime transport and innovative technologies sectors.
Based in Marseille and Paris, the team reaches around 50 people.
Solidly funded, BuyCo has a very ambitious development plan with the adding of ever more innovative features on its platform (CO2NTROL project for the control of CO2 emissions for example) and a growth acceleration thanks to new clients, especially abroad.
